Sport Management
Student Learning Outcome
As one of the well established programs in the country, the Bachelor of Science with a major in Sport Management at Georgia Southern University explores the professional applications of commercial, managerial, and legal aspects of sport. The curriculum provides the student with academic preparation and practical training that are required to be successful in one of the following segments of the sport industry:
- Professional sports
- Sport promotion & marketing
- Facility & event management
- Management of amateur sports
- Manufacturing & sales of sporting goods
- Sports club management
- Sports media & communication
- Athletic representation
The Bachelor of Science with a major in Sport Management is designed to meet the accreditation standards set by the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) and the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM). In 1995, the NASPE and NASSM officially approved the program.
