RESEARCH AND PRACTICE DAY – APRIL 7, 2008

The Mu Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International at Georgia Southern University in cooperation with The Professional Nurses' Network Chapter of the Georgia Nurses Association will present the second  Research and Practice Day, April 7, 2008.

MU KAPPA INDUCTION CEREMONY – DECEMBER 6, 2007

The Induction Ceremony, Mu Kappa Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International, will be held December 6, 2007 at Georgia Southern University in the Nesmith Lane Building’s Assembly Hall from 3:00 – 4:30 PM.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

The purpose of this program is to provide a forum for disseminating health-related research and practice projects by encouraging submission from across institutional settings and disciplines. Abstracts are invited for paper presentations of completed research (by conference date) in the areas of intervention, outcomes, and historical research; nursing practice projects, educational innovations, and leadership. Abstracts of research or projects in progress are welcome for poster presentations as are student posters communicating research.

Mu Kappa Announces Grant Competition

Mu Kappa Chapter is pleased to announce its call for research grant applications. Up to $1000.00 will be awarded this round with no one award of more than $500.00. Applications are encouraged from Mu Kappa members prepared at the Master's level or above. Applications will be accepted until August 1, 2007.

2007 RESEARCH AND PRACTICE CONFERENCE FOLLOW-UP

The Mu Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International at Georgia Southern University in cooperation with The Southern Professional Nurses' Network Chapter of the Georgia Nurses Association held the first annual Research and Practice Conference, April 9, 2007. The slides that accompanied the paper presentations may be accessed until June 30, 2007. You might also want to view pictures of the event.

The next Research and Practice Day Conference is scheduled for April 7, 2008. Please check this site for the Call for Abstracts and plan to attend the conference

RESEARCH DAY – APRIL 10, 2006

The Mu Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International at Georgia Southern University will hold its Research Day, April 10, 2006 in the Assembly Hall, Nessmith Lane Building, at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, GA. Mu Kappa Chapter Contributes to Paver Program

The Mu Kappa Chapter gave a $500.00 gift for the Brick Paver Program of the Sigma Theta Tau International Foundation. The gift was one of Mu Kappas contributions to the future of nursing. The paver was engraved as follows:

The paver dedication ceremony was conducted November 14, 2005 in Indianapolis during the Biennial Convention of Sigma Theta Tau International.

Mu Kappa's Induction Ceremony Scheduled for December 8, 2005

The Induction Ceremony of the Mu Kappa Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing was held December 8, 2005.

Dr. Tara Hulsey, Associate Dean for Faculty and Associate Professor in the College of Nursing at Medical University of South Carolina presented, Developing Leadership Traits through Personal Reflection.
