THE GOAL
SCRUBS is a comprehensive program of recruitment and retention aimed at 7th grade through senior year nursing students prepared by Georgia Southern University School of Nursing. The goal of the SCRUBS Program is increase the number of minority students admitted to and graduating from the School of Nursing. WHAT IS THE SCRUBS PROGRAM?
(MC-AHEC) is designed to recruit minority students to a nursing career, support their academic achievement, develop knowledge of the nursing profession and establish long-term mentoring relationships in the health care delivery system. Although the focus of the program is on minorities, the SCRUBS Program is open to any student who is interested in nursing and will receive program services including mentoring, tutoring, and other academic assistance. WHY THE SCRUBS PROGRAM? The purpose of the SCRUBS Program is to increase nursing education opportunities for minority students through education and social development. SCRUBS Program aims to recruit, counsel, and provide educational assistance to minority students from grade 7th through 12th and university level. WHO WILL THE PROGRAM HELP?
