Curtis G. Hames Nursing Scholarship

 
Applicants must be residents of Georgia, whose home address is within the 43-county East Georgia Area.  Applicants must be majoring in Nursing and enrolled full time with a C Average or better.

Albert Deal Nursing Scholarship

 
Criteria for determining eligibility include the applicant’s academic record, personal character and demonstrated talents.  The scholarship is open to full time students who are enrolled in the GSU nursing program.

Criteria for determining the eligibility for the scholarship will be the applicant’s academic record and will be open to full time GSU nursing students.

Joe W. Franklin and Bertha D. Franklin Memorial Scholarship

Student must be a resident of Georgia and must have and maintain a GPA of 3.2 or higher.  The recipient may be in the undergraduate or graduate program.  The scholarship is renewable if the recipient maintains the requirements of this agreement as reviewed by the nursing department scholarship committee.  If there are no qualified recipients, the scholarship shall be awarded to the best recipient based on the judgment and decision of the Nursing Department Scholarship Committee or the money shall be added back to the principal of the scholarship fund.

Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship

Financially needy and deserving young women who are nursing majors and residents of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

Auxiliary East Georgia Regional Scholarship

First preference will be given to a Bulloch Country resident who has graduated from high school in Bulloch County or has maintained residency in Bulloch County for five years prior to being accepted in the School of Nursing Program.  If, in any given year, a Bulloch Country resident is not found the scholarship may be designated to a resident who has graduated from a high school in any of the following surrounding counties or has maintained residency in any of these counties for five years prior to being accepted into the School of Nursing: Bryan, Candler, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Jenkins, Screven, Tattnall and Toombs.  Scholars must not have received other GSU Foundation Scholarships.  Scholars are required to pursue employment at East GA Regional Medical Center following graduation.  Recipients should notify Human Resources at EGRMC during their senior year.  If a position is not obtainable, it is hoped that the recipient will seek employment within the Bulloch County medical community or within the surrounding counties.

Martha Lamb Scholarship

Student must meet scholarship standards of the School of Nursing.  First preference is given to an employee of Brown/Sunbridge Nursing Home between 1992 and 2000, who is in the nursing program, leading from LPH to RN.  If the above is not met, then a second preference will be given to a student employed at any nursing home.  Student must have financial need.

Department of Hospitality, Tourism, and Family & Consumer Sciences Scholarships

Home Builders Association of Statesboro Scholarship

Applicants must demonstrate a genuine vocational or professional interest in the home building industry.  Applicants must be majoring in Interior Design.  The recipient shall be required to maintain a 3.0 GPA in major subjects and at least an overall 2.5 GPA for overall work.  Financial need should be a factor and the student must be enrolled full time.

Honey Bowen Scholarship

The student must be a full time undergraduate or graduate recreation major.  Student must remain in good standing in the program of study.

Betty Lane Family and Consumer Science Scholarship

The scholarship is available to students pursuing one of the following degrees in the Department of Hospitality, Tourism, and Family and Consumer Science:
  1. Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design
  2. Child and Family Development
  3. Interior Design
  4. Hotel and Restaurant Management
The scholarship will also be available to students pursuing a Nutrition and Food Science degree in the Department of Public Health as well as those pursuing a Family and Consumer Science Education degree in the College of Education.

Department of Health and Kinesiology Scholarships

Aimee Gunnoe Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a senior Athletic Training major to help offset the cost of their certification exam. The scholarship is named in honor of Aimee Gunnoe, former clinical athletic training faculty member killed in an automobile accident in April 2002.
